Electrickery
Tempest Recordings (Australia)
Pitching in somewhere between the chillspace, dancefloor and lunatic asylum, Electrickery is a varied and succulent collection of wonderful curio’s from Australia’s Tempest. Spies’ Instead Of kicks things off, a cinematic breakbeat peace that’s as polished as the queen’s brass knockers (on the doors in the palace. You have a smutty mind.) Red Eye Express’ Iris is pacey and sketchy fullon, with wicked sounds and more squelches than a bag full of oversized comedy leeches, while Wormfood’s High Hunter is kinda 2-step psychedelic electro rock. Eat Static turn in a delicious electro remix of Implant (called Elektroimplant) and it’s blimmin’ faultless, is what: it rules. End of. Random Designers’ Transmutation is sublime chilled psychopop, Ornament’s I-Massa is a really cute bit of electro chillage that’d fit well on your shagging tape, and Arcane Trickster’s closing tune Forever is arcane indeed, and a blimmin good way to end a delicious album.
